NA session adjourned till Mon 11th of April

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly session has been adjourned till 11am Monday (11th of April, 2022) when the new Leader of the House will be elected. 

The aspirants can submit their nomination papers by 2PM today (Sunday, 10th of April, 2022).

Earlier, the No-Confidence Motion against Imran Khan had succeeded and he ceased to be the PM from Sunday 10th of April, 2022.

The process of voting started few minutes before midnight 9th of April, 2022 with Ayaz Sadiq in the Chair. As the date changed Speaker adjourned the session for few minutes.

In the No-Confidence Motion taken up on 9th of April, 2022 Opposition succeeded in bagging  174  votes.

This was the first time that a sitting prime minister has been de-seated democratically by means of No-Confidence Resolution.

Following the announcement by Ayaz Sadiq, Shehbaz Sharif addressed the House and said that the Opposition would not seek revenge but the justice would be allowed to take its course.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reminded that on 10th of April, 1973 the Constitution Pakistan was approved in the parliament; Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that the credit goes to the workers whose efforts bring politicians to the House.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, saying that citizens should get confidence from the Parliament, hoped that this will not be just only the change of  face…the peasants will be represented by peasants… the law-makers will emerge from the 98% of the populace.

Mohsin Dawar hoped that forced disappearances would stop and actions would be taken to contain terrorism. Ali Muhammad said that Imran Khan sacrificed the government but did not accept slavery.

Ameer Haider Hoti said that today Imran Khan is speaking against America but he did not say the  same while meeting Trump, waiting the phone of Biden and accepting the conditions of IMF.

Shahzain Bugti of Jamhoori Wattan Party said that PTI failed to develop the backward areas as promised. Zahid Bhotani said that the resources of Balochistan would be used for the people of Balochistan.

Khalid Magsi of BAP party said that they had played their role as bap (father) by adding 4 to 170.
