NAB acting against corrupt elements!

ISLAMABAD: Special Advisor to Prime Minister, Iftikhar Durrani on Monday said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was working against the elements involved in corruption activities or corrupt practices.
NAB was taking action against the corrupt elements after gathering information or receiving data from concerned institutions or agencies, he said while talking to a private news channel.
It was NAB’s prerogative to take action against any element involved in corruption or money laundering, he said.  The National Accountability Bureau had launched cases against the high officials, who had worked during the tenure of previous governments, he added.
The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), government after coming into power in 2018 general election had sped up the process for eliminating corruption from the society, Durrani said.
Nawaz Sharif or Shehbaz Sharif were arrested after gathering complete information from the institutions dealing with corruption cases, he said.
To a question, he said that NAB was working independently against the corrupt elements. He, however, said that the government received information and then forwarded it to the institutions concerned, like NAB, for further action.
