NAB arrests co-accused in land grabbing case

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB-Karachi)  Saturday arrested an accused Ameer Ali in under trial case of cheating public at large by creating housing schemes at government land fraudulently.
He was absconded in NAB Reference No 1/2019 pertaining to embezzlement of Government land measuring 29 acres in Sector 31 & 32 of Scheme 33 Karachi and cheating public at large by creating illegal housing projects on the said land with the help of former Deputy Commissioner Malir Qazi Jan Muhammad and other accused.
The accused persons created housing projects “Al Raheem Villas”  fraudulently on government land and extorted Rs 178,875,000 from 275  people by way of cheating and fraud, the NAB sources said.
After the arrest, the accused was produced before Accountability Court and from where he was remanded to judicial custody.
