NAB arrests KDA official for illegal transfer of plots

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi on Monday arrested accused DDO (Shifting) of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Muhammad Arif Khan nominated in reference number 56/2010.
The arrested accused signed note sheets for illegal transfer of residential plots on amenity area, despite the fact that initial allotment was based upon fake and managed documents and none of the original allottees had appeared before any of them, a press release said. In the same capacity, the accused also signed transfer letter of these plots. The said accused in connivance with other accused persons were responsible for causing loss to the government exchequer to the tune of Rs. 168,000,000/- by creating plots on amenity areas and selling them to the general public. The arrested accused will be produced before an Accountability Court for remand on Tuesday.
