QUETTA: Former Finance Adviser to the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Khalid Lango has been sent to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody on a 14-day remand.
According to details, Accountability Court Quetta has extended the remand of the former top finance official of Balochistan to NAB, for the fifth time.
The court extended Lango’s remand on the request of NAB officials. Lango was produced before the court today (Thursday) after completion of his previous remand period.
The defence counsel opposed the NAB request and argued that no progress made in the case.
However, the judge accepted the request of NAB officials and extended Lango’s remand for 14 more days.
Lango had resigned from his office after the arrest of former finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani by NAB under corruption charges.
In a raid at the house of Mushtaq Raisani in the first week of May, NAB personnel had captured a treasure worth 730 million rupees apart from gold, prize bonds and documents of properties in posh areas in several cities across Pakistan.
Lango had stated that he was resigning since he no longer held moral authority to be the Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance.
