NAB taking measures to eliminate corruption: Chairman NAB

QUETTA: Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was taking all possible measures to eradicate corruption from the country on an emergency basis.

He expressed these views while speaking at a seminar of handing over keys of property worth millions of rupees to Balochistan Government, a press release said. Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alauddin Marri, Director General NAB Balochistan Mirza Muhammad Irfan Baig, Chief Secretary Balochistan, IG Balochistan and other officials were also present on occasion. He said that deprivation of Balochistan could be ended only when its funds were spent properly.

Most of the funds in Balochistan were being looted, some of which had been recovered from the dishonest, which would be spent on the welfare of the people, he added. He said NAB was playing a vital role against corruption across the country adding the homeland could only develop in economic and other sectors if corruption was eliminated. He said NAB was eliminating corruption transparently without interfering the politics and elections. It had no intention to carry out vengeful activities against anyone, he added.
