NADRA Mobilizes Mobile Registration Vans

ISLAMABAD: On the PM’s  instructions NADRA has mobilized mobile registration vans in the field to facilitate fast-track verification of Ehsaas Emergency Cash beneficiaries.

The number of payment counters at Ehsaas Emergency Cash campsites have significantly been increased to avoid crowding of people.

According to details in order to serve Ehsaas Emergency Cash recipients in the holy month of Ramazan, special seating arrangements have been made at  Ehsaas payment sites.

Biometrically enabled Ehsaas digital payment system has been fully deployed countrywide to ensure transparent distribution of Ehsaas Emergency Cash of Rs. 12,000 each to some 12 million families.

Earlier SAPM on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar has informed that 1.774 million families had been provided Rs. 12,000 each (amounting to Rs. 22.46 billion) under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Relief Program.

According to her eligible persons were informed via SMS in ten days time about the date and cash point of receiving payment.

Nishtar informed those people who are employed and getting any kind of salary from a job, that the program was meant only for daily wagers. Commenting on the complaints that unscrupulous elements were deducting Rs. 500 to 1000 from the cash meant for the poor, she informed that strict action was being taken against them.

According to Sania Nishtar transparency and merit was being ensured in processing the applications. She further asked people not to visit cash points until they are advised to.

FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi had earlier taken to the Twitter to state that the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program was the largest social protection program in Pakistan’s history.

“The Ehsaas programme is Pakistan’s largest social protection programme in our history guided by the vision of PM Imran Khan. PKR 144 billion will be distributed to 12M families in need over next 2 weeks, protecting those most vulnerable in fight against #Covid_19 and beyond.”Ehsaas Shah Mehmood Qureshi
