KARACHI: Family of Naqeebullah Mehsud, a youth killed in an alleged encounter here, has decided to withdraw the case against former SSP Malir Rao Anwar.
Naqeeb’s father, through his counsel, submitted an application to the court stating that there was nothing left in the case as Anwar was granted bail several times and allowed to travel abroad.
Darul Sehat hospital executive director resigns
KARACHI: Darul Sehat Hospital executive director Dr Shahzad Alam stepped down from his post, said the hospital in a statement.
The health facility’s board of directors accepted his resignation immediately.
The participants of the meeting reviewed with the “deepest concern, compassion and empathy” the incident involving wrong medication to nine-month old Nishwa and vowed to extend its fullest support for the well being of the baby and her family.
The meeting was briefed about progress on a probe into the incident which it maintained occurred because of “human negligence of a qualified paramedic.”
Fake bank accounts case: NAB arrests Zardari’s close aide Nadeem Bhutto
KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials have arrested Nadeem Bhutto, in-charge of Bhutto House from Naudero today.
Bhutto is said to be close aide of former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari.
According to NAB sources, Bhutto is involved in withdrawing money through fake bank accounts.
MQM-P leader Dr. Farooq Sattar assures PFUJ of his support to journalists
KARACHI: Leader of MQM-P Dr. Farooq Sattar in a meeting with the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) FEC assured of his complete support to journalists fraternity.
He said that he would mobilize all his resources to work out a solution for the monetary problems of those journalists/media workers who had been sacked without payment of salaries and other dues.
Dr. Farooq Sattar also pledged to lend his complete support to the proposed Protection of Journalists Bill.
