LAHORE: PML-N’s Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb has confirmed here today that the ailing (3-time) PM Nawaz Sharif will be departing from Pakistan on Tuesday (19th of November, 2019).
According to details a fully equipped & medically staffed Air Ambulance is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday morning facilitating his transportation abroad (London) for treatment.
His personal physician has taken to the Twitter to inform: “Former PM Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to travel abroad, to London-UK, for medical treatment within 48 hours once he’s clinically stabilized, made travel-worthy & is safe for air travel. He will make the journey in a fully equipped & medically staffed Air Ambulance; arriving soon.”
Dr. Adnan Khan has earlier stated that the former PM would be going to London within the next 48 hours once he was clinically stabilized, made travel-worthy & was safe for air travel.
PML-N has informed that doctors conducted a detailed examination of the deposed PM and cleared him for travel: “A high dose of steroids continues to bring his platelet count to a suitable level for travel. He is also receiving medication for blood sugar and other medical issues. The doctors are following a rigorous strategy to ensure he is able to travel safely.”
The chief executive of the Sharif Medical City also took to the Twitter informing that Nawaz Sharif would make the journey in a fully equipped and medically staffed Air Ambulance arriving soon.

ECL Issue: LHC orders to take Nawaz Sharif’s name off the ECL without conditions
LAHORE: LHC has ordered to take Nawaz Sharif’s name off the ECL on humanitarian grounds facilitating his travel abroad for treatment without the condition of depositing indemnity bonds.
According to details LHC has allowed Nawaz Sharif to leave country for four weeks in order to get treatment saying the duration could be extended if his health required.
LHC’s two-judge bench, comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem commenced hearing the petition at 11 am today and announced the judgment at 6PM.
Justice Najafi, commenting on the PTI-government’s demand apropos deposit of indemnity bonds, held that it was not fair to place conditions after grant of bail by IHC.
The same bench had judged yesterday that Nawaz Sharif’s petition against government’s condition of depositing indemnity bonds was maintainable.
On court’s demand PML-N legal team submitted a handwritten draft of the undertaking by Nawaz Sharif saying: “I do hereby undertake to return to Pakistan […] to face the process of law and justice as soon as I am declared healthy and fit to travel to Pakistan by my doctors.”
Another handwritten draft was submitted by the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly by Mian Shehbaz Sharif: “I undertake to facilitate return of my brother on certification by doctors that he has regained his health and is fit to return to Pakistan.”
After hearing the arguments, court presented its own draft for the undertaking and handed it over to lawyers of both sides for review. The government lawyer expressed reservations on the draft. Nevertheless, court granted permission to Nawaz Sharif to leave Pakistan sans furnishing of the indemnity bonds and postponed the hearing till the 3rd week of January, 2020.

LAHORE: A divisional bench of LHC comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem after hearing the arguments on the petition filed by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif seeking the removal of deposed premier Nawaz Sharif’s name from ECL unconditionally, has stated that the case was maintainable.
Bench has instructed the lawyers of all the parties to appear before it tomorrow (Saturday 16th of November, 2019) at 11.30AM.
In the last hearing LHC has asked NAB and Govt to submit reports on the Nawaz Sharif’s health and necessity of sending him abroad. After receiving the responses the bench adjourned the hearing until 3:30 pm.
Sources revealed that the government, in its 45-page reply, has opposed the plea on the grounds that petitioner was a convict and thus could not be allowed to go abroad sans depositing indemnity bonds.
In its four-page response NAB maintained that hearing of the said petition was out of the court’s jurisdiction.
ECL Issue: LHC seeks Fed Govt, NAB report about Nawaz’s health
LAHORE: While hearing PML-N’s petition regarding removal of deposed PM Nawaz Sharif’s name from ECL unconditionally, LHC’s divisional bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, asked for Federal Govt and NAB’s report regarding his treatment abroad.
In the petition it was maintained that Article 15 of the Constitution guaranteed freedom of movement, which was being violated by the incumbent government.
It may be recalled that yesterday (Wednesday 13th of November, 2019) PTI-led government had granted Nawaz Sharif one time relief by allowing him to go to London for a period of four weeks provided he furnishes indemnity bond worth Rs. 7.5 billion. But PML-N, terming the condition as illegal, moved LHC.
Following arguments, court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow (Friday 15th of November, 2019).
IHC grants bail to Nawaz Sharif for 8 weeks on medical grounds in Al-Azizia ref
ISLAMABAD: IHC has suspended the sentence of deposed PM Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizia reference on medical grounds for eight weeks.
The case was heard by two-member bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
According to the verdict announced by the bench, after eight weeks if Nawaz Sharif does not recover from the maladies he is currently suffering from, he will have to contact the Provincial Government of Punjab. Otherwise he will have to go back to jail. IHC has instructed the petitioner to deposit two sureties worth two million rupees each.
Earlier court had presented four options to Nawaz’s counsel: To forward the matter to the executive; To suspend the sentence in accordance with the time frame recommended by NAB; Approve the petitioner’s application; Reject the application.
Nawaz Sharif was incarcerated in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore completing seven year sentence in Al-Azizia reference. But he was arrested by NAB in Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case and the court too had remanded him into the custody of Bureau. Meanwhile, due to deteriorating health condition Nawaz Sharif was admitted at the Services Hospital (Lahore).
Nawaz Sharif granted bail till 29th Oct. on Medical Grounds in Al-Azizia Ref
ISLAMABAD: Deposed PM Nawaz Sharif has been granted interim bail in Al Azizia reference till Tuesday (29th day of October, 2019) by two-member bench of IHC consisting of Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani here today.
Court, maintained that it would not allow to be used and the Federal Government would have to either oppose the bail application or take responsibility: “During this time period, if anything happens to Nawaz Sharif then the government and the NAB will be responsible,” IHC chief justice said that if the government opposed the bail plea then the court would dismiss the bail petition.
Eventually, when Additional Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said that the authority had no objection to the bail of Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds in Al-Azizia reference the court granted interim bail till Tuesday against two surety bonds of two million rupees each. Court referred to section 143 of Prison Rules.
CJ Athar Minallah during the hearing pointed out that the issue should had never come before the court because according to jail manual the provincial government was empowered to dispose off a prisoner’s sentence. It is pertinent to mention here that the date of hearing was Tuesday 29th of October but stating deteriorating health of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had approached the court for an early hearing regarding the disposition of Ex-premier Nawaz Sharif’s sentence today. Shehbaz Sharif had also submitted the report of the 11-member medical board. As a result due of the well-orchestrated hype about deposed PM’s health IHC had decided to hear the petition today.
The bench, maintaining that (like Nawaz Sharif) thousands of convicted prisoners suffering from maladies were languishing in the prisons, sans means to hire advocates, ordered a list of such incarcerated patients within two weeks. 
Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Anwar Mansoor expressed disappointment over the handling of the reference. Commenting on the development he told that the Fed. Govt. was unaware about the developments in the case. AG informed that neither the federation received a notice regarding the case nor was it a party in the matter. Anwar said the NAB told the court that the former prime minister was under the custody of the Punjab government.

IHC to decide Nawaz Sharif’s petition seeking disposition in Al-Azizia ref at 4PM
ISLAMABAD: IHC’s two-member divisional bench consisting of CJ Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has issued notices to NAB and the Government of Punjab apropos disposition of Nawaz Sharif’s sentence in Al-Azizia reference.
Taking advantage of the orchestrated hype vis-a-vis convict’s deteriorating health IHC had been requested for hearing of the petition today (26th of October, 2019) instead of scheduled 29th October. Hence the IHC had heard the plea at 12.15. It seems that the deposed PM will be released at 4pm when the bench will hear the case again. It is pertinent to mention here that once bail is granted in Al-Azizia and Avenfield Properties case former premier will walk free. LHC had already ordered his release in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case yesterday.
Nawaz Sharif granted bail on Medical Grounds, Ch. Sugar Mills Case
LAHORE: LHC has granted bail to Nawaz Sharif on Medical Ground in Ch. Sugar Mills case against two surety bonds of ten million rupees each.
A two-member bench of LHC headed by Justice Baqar Najafi, had earlier reserved its verdict on PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s appeal for the release of deposed PM Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds from NAB custody (in Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case).
A medical board headed by Dr. Ayaz Mahmood Principal of Services Hospital has confirmed that deposed PM Nawaz Sharif is suffering from acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder, in which the immune system destroys platelets. The board further informed that the ailment was curable and following treatment in Pakistan Nawaz Sharif’s health would improve in few days.
Court quoting 11-member medical broad’s report held: “The petitioner has severe external existent comorbid conditions like diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, hyperuraecaemia, chronic renal disease and ischaemic heart disease…The condition of the patient is critical and the current scenario of very low platelet count has added to the seriousness of nature of disease is visible…
“anti-platelet therapy can be resumed once platelets improve to thirty thousand and that travel may be considered once platelets improve to beyond fifty thousands and his cardiac status allows…the petitioner experienced episode of central chest pain radiating to both arms which was relieved with sublingual nitroglycerine spray”.
The observation of the head of Medical Board was also stated in the judgment… “rapid decline of platelets to 6,000 per microliter (further tests) will be possible only if the number of platelets have been increased to 20,000 per microliter.” Court maintained that Nawaz Sharif’s condition was very “precarious and critical, as at present there is no sign of further improvement in platelets despite the best available treatment being extended to him in the last few days…
“We consider it as a human right case as an ailing patient is entitled to the best treatment available on earth but within his reach. The petitioner is obviously sick and a senior citizen. The medical reports have remained unchallenged by the prosecution. The petitioner appears to be physically handicapped and his medical reports suggest the seriousness of his disease which can be fatal to his life.
“The condition of the petitioner is undoubtedly serious and as such he needs the treatment in conducive condition free from any kind of pressure with full peace of mind…Obviously, the purpose of bail on medical ground is to ensure that an under-trial prisoner was allowed to avail medical treatment and, or, surgical intervention, if need be, in hospital of his choice in the country or outside the country to ensure stoppage of his further deterioration of health and not to set him at liberty till conclusion of the trial.”
Meanwhile, at two-member bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has conducted hearing on the plea seeking release of ex-Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on bail in Al-Azizia reference. Medical Superintendent (MS) of Services Hospital told the bench that Nawaz Sharif was suffering from various diseases including hypertension and blood pressure.
On Justice Amir Farooq’s query MS said Nawaz Sharif’s condition was still critical. Justice Mohsin Akhtar asked about the seriousness of the malady Nawaz Sharif was suffering from. MS informed it could be fatal if not properly dealt with.
MS told that Nawaz Sharif required 50,000 platelets to travel from the hospital and could not be taken to anywhere unless his condition stabilized. The court has sought medical reports of Nawaz Sharif and adjourned the hearing till 29th day of October.
It is pertinent to mention here that deposed PM Nawaz Sharif could not be released until the Islamabad Court too accepts his bail plea on medical grounds in Al-Azizia reference too.

Nawaz Sharif shifted to Services Hospital, lack of platelets reported
LAHORE: Former PM Nawaz Sharif has been shifted from NAB to VIP Room of Services Hospital here.
According to sources he is suffering from lack of platelets in blood. But that was not due to dengue, it was because of a medicine suggested by his personal physician Adnan Khan. The prescribed drug makes blood thin and thus decrease in platelets count occurs. NAB told that a team of doctors had been deputed to provide him round the clock medical facilities without fail.
PML-N workers who first gathered in front of NAB Lahore, later moved to converge at Services Hospital. However, it was confirmed that Nawaz Sharif is not a victim of Dengue Virus. JUI-F President Maulana Fazl-Ur Rehman, while expressing his concern about the deteriorating health of ex-PM maintained that the incumbent government was settling scores by utilizing state organisations.
Concerns increasing over Nawaz’s health: Shehbaz Sharif
LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif Friday said concerns regarding former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s health are increasing day by day.
Sharif said that it was unfortunate to see politics was being done over Nawaz Sharif’s health, and stressed that it was his right to get treatment.
The PML-N chairman further added that he has complete faith in the court and is sure that justice will be served.
It is worth mentioning here that former premier had submitted a review petition in the Supreme Court on Thursday to seek permanent bail and approval to travel abroad for treatment.
Maryam inquires after health of Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday visited the Services Hospital here to inquire after the health of her father Nawaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif was shifted to the Services Hospital on February 2 from Kot Lakhpath Jail after an approval given by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on the recommendation of the medical board constituted to monitor Nawaz Sharif’s health.
Nawaz Sharif underwent multiple medical tests, including CT scan and ultrasound, at the hospital whereas a medical board also examined his medical reports.
However, strict security arrangements were also made whereas an additional police were also deployed outside the hospital.
Medical board recommends shifting Nawaz Sharif to hospital over ‘health complications’
ISLAMABAD: A special medical board has recommended shifting former PM Nawaz Sharif to a hospital because of his ‘deteriorating health’.
Nawaz, a three-time former premier, was acquitted by an accountability court in the Flagship investments reference and sentenced to seven years in jail in the Al Azizia case on December 24, 2018. He has been imprisoned at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The request has been submitted to Punjab’s interior ministry and a decision is expected in two days. If the decision is approved, then Nawaz Sharif will be shifted to Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif requested that his brother should be shifted to a hospital because he is unwell.
Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that PML-N is engaging in propaganda. He said that Nawaz Sharif has been granted all facilities according to the law. An independent medical board will decide if he should be shifted or not, he remarked.
On January 26, Nawaz Sharif’s counsel submitted on Saturday another petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against an accountability court’s verdict in the Al Azizia reference.
The petition cited Nawaz Sharif’s cardiac condition as grounds for bail. It says that Nawaz Sharif’s has heart and kidney problems along with hypertension. His kidneys can stop working if his condition deteriorates. He has been asked to be shifted to a hospital on an immediate basis.
