New local bodies system to resolve problems 

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today said the PTI government wanted to bring such a local bodies system which could resolve problems of masses at the grass-roots level.
Chairing a meeting regarding enforcement of local bodies system in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the prime minister said in the new local bodies system, the funds would be spent at the local level which would end wastage of money and corruption.
He said the new local bodies system would help to resolve problems of masses in a better way as they could get the approval of development schemes according to their priorities. The prime minister said the elected representatives of the people could perform welfare work in a better way.  He said laws would be enacted in the new local bodies system in such a way that people could do accountability of the development schemes.
He said the new local bodies system would be proven supportive for ending personal benefits and corruption, adding basic purpose of the new system was the welfare of the people according to their priorities.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Advisor to the PM, Muhammad Shahzad Arbab, Minister for local bodies Punjab, Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for local government Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahram Tarakai, Finance Minister KPK, Taimoor Jhagra, KP Law Minister Sultan Khan and senior officials.
