Next PM: Due to Imran Khan’s criticism on Zardari opposition could not agree on pitching single candidate against PML (N)’s candidate

ISLAMABAD: Following disqualification of PM Sharif on 28th of July PML (N) seems quite confident that his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif will fill the top slot with ease letting ousted elder brother pull the strings from Raiwind.

However, the opposition parties are in no mood to let the transition be as smooth as the Sharif Clan  has anticipated.

Today,  as a result of Imran Khan’s criticism on Asif Ali Zardari, opposition parties failed to agree on pitching a single candidate against PML (N)’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi (who is also backed by JUI-F).

As a result candidates from all the major parties submitted their nomination papers (including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Khursheed Shah, Kishwar Zehra, Sahibzada Tariqullah) to the Speaker National Assembly. After due scrutiny all were approved.

It is pertinent to mention here that along with its coalition partners PML (N) happens to command 209 seats in the lower house of Parliament harboring 342 seats.

Since these votes are to be used to elect the PM, one may gauge who will win the race tomorrow (Tuesday 1st of August).

According to the game plan, as earlier mentioned in NewsPaksitan.tv reports, PML (N) wants Shahid Khaqan Abbasi only to keep top seat warm for 45 days.

Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif is expected to get the vacated NA-120 seat in order to enter the National Assembly.

Hamza Shahbaz, (who according to reports is already acting like de-facto CM of Punjab) would become the CM.

Finally, strings of the marionettes would be pulled from Islamabad and Raiwand.
