Next polls not possible based on 2017 census: PBS

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has informed the Senate today that June, 2018 elections could not be held based on  2017 census.

Chief Census Commissioner while speaking at a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Privatization & Statistics, held that elections will have to be postponed.

Harboring on the theme he elaborated that final census results would be released by the end of April, 2018, after that ECP will need four months in order to carryout delimitation of constituencies.

He said that elections could be held in June next year only if old census data and existing limitations were used.
