KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Thursday handed over former Chairman of Fishermen Cooperative Society, Nisar Morai to the Defence police after completion of 90 days remand.
According to details, Morai would be investigated for the murder of former chairman Pakistan Steel Mills Syed Sajjad Shah who was assassinated on September 11, 1998.
Earlier in March, Counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested Chairman Fisheries from Islamabad over charges of money laundering and embezzlement in the funds of Fishermen Co-operative Society.
According to National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Nisar was taking Rs350 million on the monthly basis from fisheries in the name of salaries and allowance of more than 300 ghost employees.
NAB sources also claimed that Morai has close links with Lyari gang war operatives.
