NSP an important milestone: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar took to the Twitter on Tuesday (28th of December, 2021) to state that NSP is an important milestone in strengthening National Security of Pakistan.

“The comprehensive framework, recognizes inter-linkages between various strands of national security, imperative to meet emerging challenges in evolving global environment through a whole of government effort. Pakistan’s Armed Forces will play their due part in achieving the vision laid out in the policy,” Babar Iftikhar added.

It may be recalled that on 27th Dec (2021) PM Imran Khan chaired the 36th meeting of NSC that  approved the country’s first ever National Security Policy.

National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf briefed the participants on NSP’s salient features. He stated that the country was shifting to a Comprehensive National Security Framework and the purpose of national security was to ensure the citoyen’s safety, security and dignity.

Speaking on the occasion the PM assured that Pakistan was  well-prepared to meet both internal and external threats. He maintained that the country’s security depended on the security of its citizens.

He stressed on the importance of making sure that the endeavors were synchronized and the Policy must guide all organs of the government. PM has asked Moeed Yusuf to furnish monthly implementation progress report.

It is pertinent to mention here that before it is officially adopted, the Policy will be presented to the Cabinet.
