Obesity Deteriorates Memory

KARACHI: A recent study has found that obese people have poorer periodic memory or the ability to remember past experiences.

The study argues that a less brilliant reminiscence of recent meals may lead to overeating. However, other aspects of memory such as general knowledge were not affected.

The study says that appetite hormones play a significant role in how much we eat. However, it has already been acknowledged that our minds also play a key role.

Most people watch TV while they have their dinner, therefore, they tend to eat more and feel hungrier sooner. In addition, those with amnesia will have frequent food after short intervals which cause obesity. (Aiman Inam)
