COVID-19: Dr. Zafar Mirza says Month of Ramazan to be critical

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Zafar Mirza, SAPM, has warned that the next few weeks (month of Ramazan) will be crucial apropos Coronavirus.

At the same time congregational prayers had been allowed in the mosques. Savants fear this is the time when viral infection will peak particularly if the Taravee and Eid Prayers are held disregarding the social distancing.

It seems a tussle is going on between Federal Government and the Sindh Government regarding lockdown. While Imran Khan has been stating that a developing country like Pakistan could not afford to lock the businesses down because the poor populace, particularly the daily wagers, would ultimately starve.

On the contrary CM Sindh has been advocating a complete lockdown saying that was the only way to contain the spread of the mysterious respiratory malady caused by Coronavirus.

By Ammar Ahmed -April 13, 20207

ISLAMABAD: SCP, hearing a suo motu case regarding measures taken by the govt to contain COVID-19, questioned the credentials of SAPM for Health Dr. Zafar Mirza and asked govt. to remove him from the post.

Coronavirus-related notice happens to be the first suo moto taken by CJP Justice Gulzar Ahmed. CJP is heading a five-member larger bench comprising of Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed.
