OIC urged India and UN to conduct plebiscite vowed to Kashmiris

JEDDAH:  A vow made to Kashmiris of UN-controlled plebiscite, 68 years back, was reminded here by Organization of Islamic Conference Summit as OIC called on India to implement the pending Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

The resolution is to decide the accession of the disputed territory either with India, Pakistan or totally independent state as per the will of the habitats of the Jammu and Kashmir.

The report presented by the OIC Secretary General highlights the OIC support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the people there are discriminated and mistreated by LEAs. Moreover their liberation struggle is termed as ’terrorism’

OIC also called on India to allow the access of established Fact-Finding Commission (IPHRC), International Human Rights Group and humanitarian organizations to Indian-occupied Kashmir to monitor the situation there.
