Om Puri likely to come to Pakistan for ‘Actor-in-Law’ promotions

LAHORE: Om Puri, the veteran Indian actor who is always keen to work in Pakistan, is all set to come here for the promotion of  director Nabeel Qureshi’s next movie.

After the success of Na Maloom Afraad, Qureshi is busy in his upcoming flick, Actor-in-Law. The movie will feature same cast of Na Maloom Afraad including Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat, who made a special appearance in the film’s popular item number Billi.

The movie’s cast also includes Alyy Khan, Saboor Ali and Bollywood legend Om Puri.

In a promotional ceremony, director Nabeel Qureshi said Om Puri will be around once the movie is released:

“Om Puri will be in the country for the premiere, as well as promotions,” he said.

Giving a short intro of the movie, Qureshi said: “I’m always evasive about my scripts; it’s just my style of working. I don’t like to talk about things in progress. I will say that it’s a social comedy with a very interesting story line. There are many aspects a lot of people will be able to relate to.”

“We’ll be releasing the trailer soon and hopefully, if things remain stable in the country, the movie will be released on Eid this year for sure,” Qureshi added.

Earlier, Bollywood legend Om Puri said that Pakistanis love him and everyone wants to take a selfie.

“I really like working in Pakistan, because I’m pampered a lot here. I keep responding to people’s salaams from morning to night. So many people want to throw me a dinner party at their house. And everyone wants a selfie.”

“I’ve known Pakistanis abroad for about 20 years. I have always received love from them, so much so that it’s hard to believe that there are conflicts between our two countries. I pray that we find our way to peace and both countries work towards progress, friendship and trade.”
