ABBOTTABAD: Federal Ombudsman regional office here today has ordered Commissioner Land Revenue and Audit Officer Income Tax Haripur to pay the expenses of the case from their personal account including fine to the complainant.
According to the details, Income Tax Office Haripur officials had deducted the company’s tax from the personal account of its director which was a violation of their authority, then the plaintiff registered his complaint in Federal Ombudsman regional office Abbottabad.
While giving the verdict the regional Ombudsman ordered Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to take action against Income Tax office Haripur officials.
Earlier, it was a common practice by the tax officers to deduct taxes from the personal accounts of the traders which were banned by the current FBR Chairman.
