PARIS: Last year on Friday 13th synchronized attacks were carried out at various spots here by gunmen and suicide bombers. Altogether they killed 130 people and critically injured 400. Incidentally, 20 wounded are still recovering in hospitals and 2000 others are receiving treatment for shock.

On Sunday (November 13) a number of events afternoon innumerable balloons were released; at dusk blue, white and red paper lanterns covered the Canal Saint Martin; in the evening special Mass was held at Notre Dame Cathedral. One of the targets was BATACLAN Concert Hall. Three armed men emerged from a black Volkswagen and went inside the 150-year-old venue. They opened indiscriminate fire at 1500 music aficionados watching the performance of American group Eagles of Death Metal. Eighty-nine revelers lost lives while dozens received critical injuries.
