Pad Man controversy: To release or not to be released in Pakistan that’s a question?

ISLAMABAD: Bollywood movie Pad Man starring actor Akshay Kumar would not be released here in Pakistan, reported sources.

According to the details, Pakistan’s Federal Censor Board did not give a go-ahead nod to the film, which highlights the issue of menstrual awareness that is considered a taboo in this country.

Pundits at the helm of affair are of the view that the movie is against the Islamic traditions, history, values and culture and therefore, it should not be screened in the theatres.

The narrative of the flick is about Arunachalam Muruganantham’s voyage to make sanitary napkins economical. Helmed by R. Balki, Pad Man is based on a short story from Akshay’s spouse namely Twinkle Khanna’s book titled The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.

The movie went on the floors in India, Russia, Ivory Coast and Iraq on Friday (9th February, 2018).
