Pak-Afghan anti-terrorism move: On the heels of CGS’s trip, ISI chief visits Kabul!

M. M. ALAM

ISLAMABAD: ISI Chief Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar visited Kabul on Tuesday (2nd of May) in order to ameliorate mutual intelligence.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt Gen Bilal Akbar along with a high-level delegation has recently been to Kabul to discuss military cooperation with concerned authorities.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have been accusing each other of laissez-faire  approach in dealing with a certain faction of terrorists.

Negating allegations apropos Pakistan’s allowing Afghan Taliban use its soil, Pak Army asserted that it had complete control of its border area and had not been letting militants utilize its soil against neighbors.

Pakistan has also been registering its reservations vis-à-vis presence of TTP militants in Afghanistan who had been conducting suicide attacks in Pakistan.

The recent Kabul-visits of Pak Army officers have manifested that both countries have finally decided to join hands in order to defeat the common enemy.
