ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,in occupied Kashmir has welcomed Pakistani government’s decision to open Sharda Peeth temple located in Azad Kashmir for Kashmiri Pandit pilgrims.

According to Kashmir Media Service,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while taking to the twitter said, “Media reports about positive movement between India and Pakistan on the opening of Sharada Peeth temple is a welcome sign. During Hurriyat leaders last visit to Pakistan, we had also urged the [Pakistani] government to facilitate the pilgrimage as it was a deep longing of our Kashmiri Pandit community.”

Meanwhile, a Kashmiri Pandit group Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (SSCK) in a statement hailed the Pakistani government’s announcement for reopening Sharda Peeth pilgrimage route.
