MELBOURNE: Australian skipper Steve Smith’s century took Aussies to 465 for six, a lead of 22 runs over green shirts before the rain abandoned the fourth day’s play in the second Test in here on Thursday.

Smith (100) and Mitchell Starc (7) remained on the pitch just before rain stopped play. Smith cut Sohail Khan for three through the off-side to bring up his 17th Test hundred which helped his team to build a 22-run lead over Pakistan.

Usman Khawaja, the second top-scorer at the fourth-day, was dismissed on 97 when he played away from his body and edged Wahab Riaz to wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
