Pakistan, India should work together to reduce tensions: US




WASHINGTON: The United States has urged Pakistan and India to reduce tensions and resolve their issues with strategy.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, in a press briefing, said that the two countries should work together to avoid violence

“The United States encourages Pakistan and India to act with maximum restraint and work together to reduce tensions in the region,” he said, adding: “De-escalating the tension between these two countries is a priority of the United States.”

He said that the United States was monitoring the prevailing situation in the region and was reviewing all aspects of it.

He said the US condemns terrorist attacks taking place across the world.

The White House spokesman said that the talks between Pakistan and India would pave the way for peace and stability in South Asia.

Earnest said that improvements in bilateral relations between Pakistan and India could greatly enhance prospects for lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
