ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Petroleum Nadeem Babar Wednesday said Pakistan and Iran would collaborate to curb smuggling of petroleum products.
“There will be collaboration to curb smuggling of petroleum products at Pakistan-Iran border,” he said during a meeting with Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honarodoost, who called on him here.
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest and ways and means to further strengthen existing bilateral ties.
Nadeem Babar said Pakistan and Iran were enjoying good brotherly relations and stressed the need for expanding cooperation in trade and commercial sectors.
The envoy said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game-changer for the entire region and Iran could play its role in this project.
He also said that Pakistan and Iran could also collaborate in offshore oil and gas exploration activities.
