Pakistan has suffered from terrorism: British Home Secretary

ISLAMABAD: Amber Rudd, British Home Secretary, has observed that Pakistan had suffered ‘more than most’ from the scourge of terrorism.

She expressed these views after a meeting here with her counterpart Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday.

Noting that Pakistan was still facing challenges, she appreciated efforts of armed forces towards bringing security to the peoples of Pakistan and UK.

Acknowledging that the country is still facing considerable challenges, Rudd added that hard work of the forces had brought security not only to the people of Pakistan, but also to citizens of the United Kingdom.

Recalling that the two countries had endeavored together to contain organized crime, terrorism and extremism.

She also informed that in order to expand cooperation on National Action Plan British PM’s special envoy on counter-terrorism will be coming here.

Commenting on border security she pointed towards British support for (Islamabad) Airport’s development with training and expertise.

British Home Secretary told that the two-countries were working together to tackle organized immigration crime.

She said that the two countries want their borders to remain secure for legitimate travelers.
