ISLAMABAD: Qatari Prince Hamad bin Jasim al-Thani has refused to appear before the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT), asking the probing team to travel Doha instead.

The prince was believed to arrive at Qatar’s embassy in Pakistan to meet the JIT formed to probe money trail of the Sharif family’s offshore properties. However, according to a spokesperson of the Qatar government, the prince has established contact with the JIT and invited the probing team to Doha instead for third time for the confirmation of his letters.

“The prince has maintained his stance and contended that he could not be subjected to an investigation by Pakistani institutions since he holds a foreign nationality,” the spokesperson said.
