ISLAMABAD: Parliament on Wednesday (29th of March, 2023) had curtailed Suo Moto Powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan by approving Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023.

Later the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023, moved by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar was passed by the Senate on Thursday (30th of March, 2023).

From now on a three-member committee of senior judges will take Suo Moto Notices and CJP will not be able to take such notices in an individual capacity.
