PC Gwadar Attack: All terrorists killed, guests safe!

GAWADAR: Security forces had killed all three militants who had attempted to attack the Pearl Continental Hotel here on Saturday. 

According to details, when three gunmen tried to attack the five-star hotel, they were challenged by the guards. As a result of the exchange of fire, four employees of the Hotel and one Pak Navy soldier (Abbas Khan) lost their lives. Many others got injured, including two Captains of the Pak Army and two Hotel personnel. 

Meanwhile, all the guests were taken to safety. According to ISPR: “security forces had cordoned off the area and encircled the terrorists on the stairs leading to the top floor…After ensuring the safe evacuation of guests and staff, a clearance operation was launched to take on the terrorists

“…the terrorists had made CCTV cameras dysfunctional and planted improvised explosive devices on all entry points leading to the fourth floor… Security forces made special entry points to get onto the fourth floor, shot down all terrorists and cleared planted IEDs.”

BLA spokesman has taken to the twitter to claim responsibility for the attack: “Our fighters have carried out this attack on Chinese and other foreign investors who were staying in PC hotel!”

Prime Minister Imran Khan held: “Such attempts, especially in Balochistan, are an effort to sabotage our economic projects and prosperity. We shall not allow these agendas to succeed”.

President Alvi termed such attacks as nefarious conspiracies against national development projects. He reiterated that the nation was united against the menace of terrorism and soon it would be eradicated from the country. President paid rich tribute to those who lost their lives and prayed for early recovery of injured.

Readers may recall that just a day before PC attack (on 10th of May, 2019) two (coal) miners and two FC personnel lost their lives in a bomb explosion; On 9th of May three Baloch (including a tribal leader) were killed in a blast carried out at Qilla Abdullah; On 18th of April fourteen bus passengers were killed by gunmen on Makran Coastal Highway; Just a week earlier two people died when a bomb went off in Chaman on 12th April 2019; The very day twenty people belonging to the Hazara community were attacked, as a result, about 48 got injured and 20 were left dead!
