Pentagon confirms F-16 jet crashed in Kabul




KABUL: Pentagon issued a statement on Wednesday confirming the crash of F-16 fighter jet of United States Air Force in Kabul, Afghanistan on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the jet has crashed during takeoff at an airbase outside Kabul.

“The F-16 jet has destroyed after the crash, however, the pilot had ejected himself safely but sustained minor injuries,” Pentagon’s Press Secretary Peter Cook said.

“The pilot is under treatment by medical personnel,” Peter said.

Further information suggested that the pilot was part of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing at Bagram, Afghanistan.
