PFUJ condemns killing of journalists in Afghanistan!

KARACHI: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has condemned killing of journalists in Afghanistan.

PFUJ joins hands with IFJ and AIJA to condemn the brutal killings of Afghan journalists in shooting and bomb blasts in Kabul yesterday (30th of April, 2018). 

President PFUJ Rana M. Azeem and Secretary General PFUJ GM Jamali in a message expressing their deep concern and sorrow over the incident, extended condolences to the grieved families of the killed journalists. 

It is pertinent to mention here that unknown gunmen killed Ahmad Shah, a journalist with BBC Afghan service, in Khost province, while as many as nine journalists were killed in a suicide attack in Kabul.

In their joint message President PFUJ “We fully understand the grief of the families of the departed journalists in our neighboring country Afghanistan as we have been facing same situation in Pakistan for many years. We condemn the attackers and demand the government to arrest the culprits and take necessary steps for the safety of the working journalists,” Rana Azeem and GM Jamali said.

President PFUJ Rana Azeem and Secretary General PFUJ G. M. Jamali have asserted that IFJ should take strong action to highlight the alarming situation of the Afghanistan and Pakistan at the global level.
