PFUJ Condemns Police Harassment of Geo Reporter

KARACHI/LAHORE: G.M. Jamali, President Pakistan Federal of Journalists (PFUJ), and General Secretary Rana Muhammad Azeem have strongly condemned the registration of false case against Matiari-based Geo News’ Reporter Abdul Razaq Memon.

According to details, though Abdul Razaq Memon was in Hyderabad far from the scene of crime, he has been falsely implicated in a shooting incident. Sources revealed that the firing took place due to a land dispute and claimed life of a child.

Surprisingly, Police raided Abdul Razaq Memon’s residence to detain him despite the fact that a court of law had granted him a pre-arrest bail. PFUJ’s President G. M. Jamali, and Secretary General Rana Muhammad Azeem have warned the concerned authorities to stop the Police harassment or a series of widespread protests would be launched.
