PFUJ President G M Jamali condemns murder of journalist in Peshawar

KARACHI: PFUJ President G M Jamali, while strongly condemning the targeted killing of  Nowshera-based Pvt. TV Channel reporter Noor-ul-Hasan said that government had utterly failed to provide protection to Media workers for whom working condition is getting increasingly hazardous day by day.

Demanding immediate arrest of culprits, G. M. Jamali urged the government to take urgent measures to ensure the protection of Media workers in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Noor-ul-Hasan was shot dead at Peshawar’s Ring Road area by unidentified gunmen. 

He was accompanied by his cameraman Sabir who too was wounded by the assailants. Both were taken to the nearest medical facility where reporter Noor-ul-Hasan was declared dead. According to sources privy to NPV the condition of cameraman Sabir is not stable.

According to sources, the wounds were caused by 9mm weapon. Brother of the killed reporter has said that they had no enemy and the attack was due to Noor-ul-Hasan’s professional engagements.
