KARACHI: Overseas Pakistani Consortium Al-Nahang has offered 125 billion rupees to acquire PIA, by means of formal emails (harbouring all the technical studies and comprehensive business plan) addressed to the ministers of privatisation, aviation, and defence.
The bidders will repay Rs. 250 billion debt incurred on the National Flag Carrier, buy new aircraft enabling them to retain the employees (whose remunerations will be augmented from thirty percent to cent percent). According to sources the Consortium is counting on the strategic positioning that would make it possible to transform PIA into a maintenance hub for other regional airlines.
