PM-COAS consult on the appointment of new DG ISI

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for information & Broadcasting Ch Fawad Hussain has taken to the twitter to inform that: “Consultations between the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff on the appointment of a new DG ISI have been completed and the process of the new appointment has begun”.

“Once again, the civilian and military leadership has proved that the country’s stability, integrity and development All institutions are united and equal,” he added

It is pertinent to mention here that talking to journalists after cabinet huddle on 13th Oct, Fawad Ch maintained that the govt had an ideal relationship with the military he informed: “A long meeting took place between PM Imran Khan and the army chief last night…The prime minister shares a very close relationship with the army chief…The Prime Minister’s Office will never take a step that would hurt the reputation of the army.”

Maintaining that appointment of DG ISI was the prerogative of the PM, Fawad Ch told that the government would adopt a legal procedure to appoint the DG ISI and would ensure all constitutional requirements were fulfilled in this regard.
