PM Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi condemn attack on Palestinians

KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Alvi have taken to the Twitter to condemn the attack carried out by Israeli forces on peaceful Palestinians.

Arif Alvi stated: “It is a shame that Israeli apartheid against Palestinians continues. Atrocious attack on peaceful praying Muslims is given the usual media spin of ‘clashes’. My brothers don’t lose hope. Time is near when International Politics will be based on morality & not on vested interests.”


Imran Khan Strongly condemning Israeli Forces’ attack (esp during Ramazan) on Palestinians in Qibla-e-Awaal, Al-Aqsa Mosque, violating all norms of humanity & int law held: “We reiterate support for Palestinian ppl. Int community must take immed action to protect Palestinians & their legitimate rights.”

It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of Palestinians got injured when Israeli police resorted to fire rubber bullets in order to contain the manifestation carried out by the Palestinians a day after the Al-Aqsa Mosque incident in which 200 namazis were  wounded. Claiming that the protesters had hurled stones at the security forces, the Israeli Police admitted that they had dispersed the rally in the Sheikh Jarrah area by means of tear gas. The authorities further stated that on Sunday (9th of May) a rocket had been fired from the Gaza Strip, with the Israel Defense Forces responding by striking a military target in the south.

Meanwhile, Pope Francis called for an end to violence in annexed East Jerusalem. Following his Regina Caeli prayer he stated that hge was following with particular concern the events that are happening in Jerusalem: “I pray so that this might be a place of encounter and not violent clashes, a place of prayer and of peace. I invite everyone to seek shared resolutions so that the multi-religious identity and multi-culture of the holy city might be respected and so that fraternity might prevail.
