PM leaves on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is all set to leave for Riyadh today (Wednesday) on a three-day official visit, sources said.

“He will hold important talks with the Saudi leadership,” said an official from the PM house.

PM has been invited by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud to witness the military exercise ‘North Thunder’.

The exercise will be witnessed by many other heads of the government.

Official statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Secretary says: “This exercise has a main goal. This will improve training of the troops in order to respond to the threats posed by terrorist groups like Islamic State (IS).”

“Troops from some 21 countries will participate in the exercise,” read the statement.
