ANKARA: PM Shehbaz Sharif met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Presidential Palace here on Wednesday 1st of June, 2022.
Earlier, a smartly turned out contingent of the Turkish armed forces presented guard of honor to the Prime Minister. PM introduced his delegation members to the Turkish President.
Shehbaz Sharif Tweeted: “Just concluded most cordial and highly productive talks with my brother President Erdogan. We have renewed commitment to inject greater substance to our existing strategic ties to the benefit of peoples of our two countries; Looking forward to hosting 7th session of HLSCC.”
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took to the Twitter to to state: “We are expanding our collaboration in tourism, education, logistics, civil aviation, communication, and information technology. We will continue to work to strengthen further Türkiye-Pakistan relations, which have deep historical roots of friendship and brotherhood.
“We intend to expand our trade, which has surpassed $1 billion for the first time since 2011, to $5 billion. We are pleased with the defense industry cooperation we have developed with Pakistan. We value our collaboration on corvette production as part of the MILGEM Project.”
“On the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic ties, we hosted my beloved brother Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. We are prepared to further develop Türkiye-Pakistan relations in light of the two nations’ shared history, friendship, and potential,” Recep Tayyip Erdoğan further tweeted.
