PM Nawaz chairs top-level meeting to review security situation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday chaired a top level meeting to review country’s overall situation of law and order and other significant affairs.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser Lt-General (r) Nasir Janjua, Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and other high profile officials were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, investigation report of terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University, Charsadda was also presented. The progress made in investigation of IAF Pathankot airbase attack was also taken up.

The participants also exchanged their views at proposed Afghan peace dialogue, ahead of third quadrilateral meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and United States on February 6 in Islamabad.

The meeting was also briefed about eh agenda of Afghan intelligence chief’s forthcoming meeting with DG ISI Lt-General Rizwan Akhtar, who is due to take place on February 4.
