ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has performed the groundbreaking of Lahore-Sialkot motorway on Monday.
The 89-kilometer long Lahore-Sialkot Motorway project would be completed in two years at a cost of 42.38 billion rupees.
Earlier, Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved a number of projects including Lahore-Sialkot motorway.
The decision was taken at an ECNEC meeting in Islamabad in the chair of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
“6 interchanges would be built at Lahore-Sialkot motorway starting from Kala Shah Kaku district of Sheikhupura,” said a statement issued by ECNEC.
Meanwhile, the ECNEC also approved the construction of Burhan-Havelian expressway which will cost 34.16 billion rupees and a project costing 22.16 billion rupees for provision of clean drinking water in Balochistan province.
The meeting was informed that Lowari Tunnel project will be completed by next year.
