PM performs Umrah, prays for Pakistan’s prosperity

MECCA:  PM  Imran Khan here on Saturday night performed Umrah along with his accompanying delegation on the first day of his three-day visit to the Kingdom.

The Prime Minister prayed for peace and prosperity of Pakistan as well as Muslim Ummah. Earlier, soon after his arrival in Madinah Munawara in the evening, he proceeded to Masjid-e-Nabawi, paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him), offered Nawafil and prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country.

The Prime Minister, upon arrival in Jeddah was received by Prince Badar bin Sultan Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah region, while in Madinah Munawara he was welcomed by Prince Faisal bin Al-Khalid Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah region.

The Prime Minister arrived in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit of the Kingdom to attend the launch of Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit being held in Riyadh.

The Prime Minister, who is visiting the Kingdom at the invitation of Prince Saud Bin Khalid Al-Faisal Deputy Governor of Madina region, besides attending the Summit will also participate in Pakistan-Saudi Investment Forum and meet Saudi leadership.

He is also expected to have a meeting with Pakistan community members in Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, Special Assistant for Environment Malik Amin Aslam.

Prime Minister Khan paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool in Masjid-e-Nabawi (Peace Be Upon Him). The Prime Minister is in Saudi Arabia on a three-day (23rd till 25th of October) official visit to the Kingdom in order to attend the launch of Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit being held in Riyadh.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan had repeatedly vowed to continue struggle for transforming Pakistan into a welfare state on the model of Riyasat Madina to take care of poor people, uphold justice, raise moral standards, stop corruption and preserve family system.
