ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a special cabinet meeting today (Friday) at Governor House in Lahore to discuss the deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
According to a PM House statement, the meeting will discuss the oppressive actions of Indian security forces against innocent Kashmiris and the brutal assassination of Hurriyat leader Burhan Wani.
“Earlier, on the directions of the PM foreign office called Indian high commissioner to the foreign office and conveyed strong concerns of the Pakistani government and people on the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Kashmir and increasing oppression by Indian security forces,” the statement read.
The ambassadors of all permanent members of United Nations Security Council were briefed on the atrocities of Indian security forces in Kashmir.
“The PM will take the cabinet into confidence on these measures and also chalk out the future course of action on this issue,” the statement read.
