PM willing to share the ‘letter’ with CJP

ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan, referring to the threat letter [he had shown at the Amar Bin Maroof rally held here on Sunday (27th of March, 2022)] has said on Tuesday (29th of March, 2022) that he was willing to share its contents with the Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial in order to prove its credibility.

“The national secrets are of highly sensitive nature. And there are laws that such secrets can not be shared with everyone. However, in order to satisfy the people about the authenticity of the letter, the Prime Minister has agreed to show it to the most reliable person with good reputation Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan,” Umar maintained.

Speaking to journalists at a Presser held here on Tuesday (29th of March, 2022) Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that PM was ready to share the Threat Letter with the CJP. According to Asad Umar, due to its sensitive nature, it could not be made public and only a couple of ministers, few top civil and military bureaucrats had been shown the letter.

“I myself have read the letter, therefore I am giving the statement with full confidence,” Asad Umar told, adding that the Opposition had submitted the No-Trust-Resolution in the Secretariat of the National Assembly after the date mentioned in the correspondence. According to the Federal Minister there was a direct reference of the No-Trust-Resolution.

Further revealing the contents of the letter Asad Umar said the communique warned of severe consequences if the no-confidence resolution failed and PM Imran Khan remained at the helm of affairs. He held that the content of the letter made it clear that foreign elements were involved in the opposition’s No Confidence Motion against him.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan, showing a folded piece of paper, had insinuated about a foreign-funded plot to topple his government as he was pursuing an independent foreign policy. Imran Khan has also maintained that the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif was involved in the of threat letter scandal.

Asad maintained that the principle character behind the plot against the incumbent PTI-led coalition government was Nawaz Sharif sitting in London facilitating the international establishment. According to him PDM’s senior leadership was also knowingly involved in this conspiracy.

Nevertheless, cynics go haywire wondering if the threat was so grave then: i) Why PM revealed about it at a public gathering whereas, under the oath he is not supposed to reveal matters of national security? ii) Why PM did not call NSC meeting to ponder over the threat? Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry was also present at the said Presser.

It may be recalled that on Sunday (27th of March, 2022) Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had claimed that the letter (conveying a threatening message to the incumbent PTI-led coalition government’s top brass) was shared with the leadership of Pakistan Military. | YouTube Channel
