PML-N’s Ataullah Tarar arrested and released?

SIALKOT: Ataullah Tarar, Deputy Secretary General of PML-N,  who had been taken into custody by Police from Daska area here today has been released. 

PML-N’s Spokesperson for Punjab Uzma Zahid Bukhari said the reason for his arrest was not known. According to sources he was taken to the Wazirabad PS.

However, Special Assistant to the CM Punjab on Information and Culture, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, termed the development as a drama. While Dr. Firdous Awan claimed that Ataullah Tarar and a number of other PML-N leaders were in Daska to create disturbance, PML-N maintains that they were campaigning for the forthcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Police has claimed that it had information that ten PML-N supporters in the rally were carrying unlicensed weapons. After checking they reportedly recovered a weapon on the gunmen of PMLN’s Gujranwala President. As he was being taken to the PS, Police maintains, Ataullah Tarrar  insisted on accompanying him.
