PM’s visit to Qatar has great importance: SAPM

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Coordination Nadeem Afzal Chan Tuesday said the ongoing visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Qatar had great importance as different issues including economy, energy, and peace would be discussed.

In an interview, he said Pakistan and Qatar were enjoying cordial relations with each other.

He assured that the incumbent government would not hide any agreement from the parliament as were hidden by the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

He said in the parliamentary form of government, it was the parliament which empowered the prime minister.

Nadeem Afzal Chan said the government was taking effective measures to strengthen national economy and revamping the national institutions as well.

Replying to a question, he said the government was making its house in order before going to International Monetary Fund (IMF) for avoiding strict conditions of IMF.

He said the government was making efforts to bridge the gap between exports and imports of the country, adding that giving judgmental statements against the performance of any government during initial five months was not fair.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government wanted to provide permanent relief rather than short term, he added.

He said the government would take on-board all stakeholders over all the national issues.

The construction of dams was essential for producing cheap electricity in the country, he added.

The PTI government was busy in taking important steps for the revival of economy and also looking forward to take the country’s industrial, trade and social sector development on priority.

He alleged that PML-N had badly damaged the economy of the country.

He said the present problems which were faced by the country are results of wrong policies of the previous governments.

The present PTI government was not responsible for bad condition of financial matters of the country, he added.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was very sincere with the country and taking many steps to raise the living standard of the poor people and in this regard several steps had been taken for uplift and development of the poor masses of Pakistan.
