Police use water cannon to disperse protesting teachers

KARACHI: College teachers protesting against non-payment of salaries for many months tried to march towards CM House here on Wednesday afternoon.

A number of teachers got injure and six arrested during police crackdown.  The agitation has been organised by the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA).

Lashing out at protesting teachers  ‎Secretary Education and Literacy Department at Government of Sindh has termed the agitating teachers as terrorists.

To prevent SPLA activists from entering the Red Zone,  police used teargas shells and water cannon against them in front of DJ Science College.

Since last night roads leading to the CM House have been made inaccessible for civilians  blocked by using containers.
