ISLAMABAD: Federal Cabinet has discussed the state of political and economic state of affairs here today.
Informing the Media about cabinet decisions Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the ministries concerned to take measures to make the prices of essential items stable as well as ensuring their availability in markets for the benefit of common man.
Special Assistant said that according to the cabinet decisions strict action would be taken against profiteers and hoarders as it was main responsibility of the government to ensure provision of goods to the people. Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of provincial chief ministers and chief secretaries on Friday (18th October, 2019) in which measures would be discussed to activate the price control committees.
Imran Khan has also asked to develop a mechanism in coordination with provincial Auqaf Departments to take steps for land retrieval and its proper use for public service purposes. A data bank on these lands should also be prepared. The cabinet endorsed the decisions of previous meeting of Economic Coordination Committee.

The Prime Minister apprised the cabinet of the fascist, extremist mindset of the Modi government which was condemned by the cabinet members. The Cabinet unanimously decided to approach all the forums to lift the curfew imposed by Indian government in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
PM directed to bring hospital waste management policy in next cabinet meeting after holding thorough consultation with the provinces. He expressed displeasure over the dumping of waste by government and private hospitals.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has put forth the suggestion to cabinet to set up learning centers in big cities for the facilitation of journalists as well as general public. The youth and others can avail the internet facility as well as information.
The cabinet was briefed about the steps being taken for Madrassa reforms and to make the curriculum uniform across various educational institutions in the country. The curricula will be streamlined under a unified policy and the Minister of Education will give details to the media in this regard. A high powered committee will collect data from each ministry to make the process transparent for regularizing of services.
Due to Senate-in-session the Cabinet deferred the discussion on the real estate regulatory authority. To streamline various housing developments in Pakistan Cabinet will discuss the matter in the next rendezvous.
