KARACHI: Sardar Abdul Rahim, Spokesman of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), while commenting on PPP-Mayor Karachi accord, insinuated that it seemed to be the first step towards confronting the Supreme Court.
Pointing towards timing, Sardar Abdul Rahim asked why sudden coalition when Sindh Government did not manage to provide amenities to the citizens and failed local government’s tenure is about to end (in 12 days). GDA, he said, demand action according to the verdict of Supreme Court. He quipped, why those who had sucked people of Sindh’s blood for twelve years, suddenly became conscious of karachiites’ rights.
Sardar Abdul Rahim noted that Mayor brought the people of Karachi to the brink of calamity, while constantly lamenting that he had not been given the required authority. He also pointed out that despite accusing PPP Govt. of not providing funds, Mayor had been enjoying the advantages of his position. GDA spokesman said that people are now smart enough and wool could not be pulled over their eyes any longer.
He reiterated that the objective of the plunderers of Sindh’s billions was only to confront the Supreme Court. He asked how one could expect anything good from the alliance of those who had transformed the city of lights into ruins. He again said that the Sindh and Local Governments had not accomplished any developmental work nor had it succeeded in giving any facility to the people of Sindh including Karachi.
