PPP and PML-N join hands to show PTI Govt. the door

LAHORE: Following a rendezvous with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here today, PPP leaders and members of the PML-N delegation told to journalists at a Presser that opposition parties had agreed upon calling an All Parties Conference after Eid-ul-Azha with an aim to show the incumbent PTI-led Govt, the door.

According to details, PPP’s Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-s Ahsan Iqbal informed the journalists that a  joint opposition coordination committee meeting would be held this week and after consulting all parties, an APC will be held after Eid-ul-Azha. Kaira told the Media personnel that opposition parties would complete their homework before the Eid and exchange notes to figure out stratagem as how to oust the PTi-led government during the APC.

Ahsan Iqbal maintained if the incumbent government remains at the helm of affairs  the country will face several external and internal dangers. He noted that instead of strengthening the unity the PTI-led government was working on the agenda of taking revenge: “In this situation, the country’s two biggest opposition parties agree that to get rid of this incompetent government will be representative of this country’s 220 million people.” According to him due to  PTI-led government’s policies people were further falling in the abyss of poverty. He also criticized the attempts to gag the Media.

It is pertinent to mention here that a PML-N delegation comprising former NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq, former railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal called on Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House earlier today. Raja Parvez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Manzoor and Hasan Murtuza represented the PPP side alongwith the Chairman.

PML-N delegation discussed the overall political scenario of the country and pondered over the future political stratagem vis-à-vis APC agenda, its charter of demands. According to PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb APC date would be decided following agreement of all opposition parties on a common agenda.

A day earlier PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had telephoned PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who happens to be in the Walled City since Saturday (18th of July, 2020) evening. They agreed to have a tête-à-tête for further discussion. Savants at the helm of affairs believe that following this rendezvous it is expected that the opposition spearheaded by PPP-P, PML-N and JUI-F would join forces to try to oust the incumbent PTI-led government.

Nevertheless, it had been declared by the two parties after the huddle that the opposition had agreed to call an All-Parties Conference (APC) immediately after Eid-ul-Azha in order to figure out a combined strategy to show the present government the door. PML-N and PPP had also proclaimed that a Joint Action Committee (JAC) would be formed comprising Khawaja Asif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Sanullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb from PML-N side.

JAC, that has been tasked to figure out a modus operandi against the government, will also harbor Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Farhatullah Babar and Nayyar Bukhari from PPP-P side.
